Lensfield Medical Practice is a long established Cambridge GP surgery, providing a full range of medical services to over 12,500 patients in the Cambridge city centre. As well as local residents we also welcome out of area registration to people who work locally.
We are also happy to accommodate all Cambridge University College and Anglia Ruskin students.
Our website has been newly revamped to provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It is now straightforward to book face to face and phone consultations online, contact your doctor and request prescriptions.
Were you aware that you could self refer for a wide range of Cambridge NHS services without the need to see your GP in surgery?
- Counselling / CBT
- NHS Physiotherapy
- Minor eye conditions
- Free walk-in NHS service based in local opticians

Lensfield Medical Practice would like to invite you to join DoctorLink
We have been looking at how we can improve access to Practice services; DoctorLink is our new online service where you can access advice and appointments on line.
Registration is simple and you can register here https://app.doctorlink.com/lensfieldmedicalpractice/register
For all urgent appointments, we ask that you undertake a symptom assessment through DoctorLink.
The symptom checker will ask you a number of questions to help to identify your problem.
The outcome of your assessment will direct you to the right treatment, whether emergency care, your GP, nurse or self-care.
If your outcome indicates that an appointment is required at the practice you simply click on the “request an appointment” button.
Once the request has been submitted, you will then be contacted by the Practice Team, to arrange an appointment within the identified timeframe (as outlined in the outcome of your symptom checker).
The information you provide will be shared with our clinical team (where appropriate) and will assist in providing robust information of your problem to the required clinical team member prior to your appointment.
Lensfield Medical Practice underwent it's CQC inspection on Tuesday 2nd August 2016. The inspectors reviewed all aspects of the service and care we offer our patients and we are thrilled to announce that in all areas our surgery scored GOOD!
